Beings In Christ"
Colossians 2:6 As you have therefore
received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and
conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him. 7 Have the roots [of
your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being
continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and
established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and
overflowing in it with thanksgiving. 8 See to it that no one carries you
off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and
intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following
human tradition (men's ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world),
just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the
universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).

let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth

Remaining Fixed in an
Unstable World
Psalms 111:6 He has declared and shown to
His people the power of His works in giving them the heritage of the nations
[of Canaan]. 7 The works of His hands are [absolute] truth and justice
[faithful and right]; and all His decrees and precepts are sure (fixed,
established, and trustworthy). 8 They stand fast and are established
forever and ever and are done in [absolute] truth and uprightness.
Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in
the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of
nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's
hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are
coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. KJV

25 And there will be signs in the sun and
moon and stars; and upon the earth [there will be] distress (trouble and
anguish) of nations in bewilderment and perplexity [without resources, left
wanting, embarrassed, in doubt, not knowing which way to turn] at the roaring
(the echo) of the tossing of the sea, 26 Men swooning away or expiring with
fear and dread and apprehension and expectation of the things that are coming
on the world; for the [very] powers of the heavens will be shaken and caused to

Rooting and Changing The
Mind and the Inner Man
Romans 2:4 Or are you [so blind as to]
trifle with and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of His
kindness and forbearance and long-suffering patience? Are you unmindful or
actually ignorant [of the fact] that God's kindness is intended to lead you to
repent (to change your mind and inner man to accept God's will)?
Revelations 2:5 Remember then from
what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God's will)
and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else
I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change
your mind and repent.
James 5:16 Confess to one another therefore
your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray
[also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual
tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a
righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Romans 7:5 When we were living in the
flesh (mere physical lives), the sinful passions that were awakened and aroused
up by [what] the Law [makes sin] were constantly operating in our natural
powers (in our bodily organs, in the sensitive appetites and wills of the
flesh), so that we bore fruit for death. 6 But now we are discharged from the
Law and have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once
restrained and held us captive. So now we serve not under [obedience to] the
old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the
Spirit in newness [of life].

of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from
the law of sin and of death.

and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap

Faith Fixes the Inner
Man on God
Psalms 108:1 O GOD, my heart is fixed
(steadfast, in the confidence of faith); I will sing, yes, I will sing praises,
even with my glory [all the faculties and powers of one created in Your image]!
Psalms 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God,
my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing and make melody. 8 Awake, my
glory (my inner self); awake, harp and lyre! I will awake right early [I will
awaken the dawn]!
Ephesians 3:17 May Christ through your
faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your
hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
Colossians 1:22 Yet now has [Christ, the
Messiah] reconciled [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in
order to present you holy and faultless and irreproachable in His [the Father's]
presence. 23 [And this He will do] provided that
you continue to stay with and in the faith [in Christ], well-grounded and
settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope [which rests
on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which
you heard and which has been preached
The Hidden Man of the
Heart
Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man [that
factor in human personality which proceeds immediately from God] is the lamp of
the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.
1 Peter 3:4 But let it be the hidden
man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek
and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. KJV

person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which in God’s sight is very precious.

Union with Christ feeds,
fixes, strengthens, and reinforces our Inner Man
John 15:4 Dwell in Me, and I will
dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear
fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither
can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.
